Substitute resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept contributions of money or equipment from various sources for furniture and office equipment.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept contributions of money to purchase furniture or moving services or contributions of furniture and office equipment from various sources for the recently renovated Neighborhood Task Force Building.
Body
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City, and
Whereas, Contributions of furniture and office equipment will assist the Milwaukee Police Department with Neighborhood Task Force operations; and
Whereas, C.H.Coakley Brothers Movers has offered to provide moving services for approximately $1,500 to the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, R.W. Baird has offered to contribute surplus office furniture and equipment to the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, This contribution will assist the Milwaukee Police Department with the operational efficiency of the Neighborhood Task Force; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept contributions of office furniture and equipment;
and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to pay up to $2,000 for moving services related to this contribution, and to expend these funds for the purchase of said services; using operating funds.
