Title

Substitute resolution declaring the 9th District Business Summit to be an official City event.

Analysis

This substitute resolution declares the 9th District Business Summit to be an official City event, and transfers the remaining balance from the City’s Fourth of July fund to be used for this event.

Body

Whereas, The 9th District Business Summit connects small business owners and entrepreneurs with City departments and local vendors; and

 

Whereas, The 9th District Business Summit provides tools and development resources to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, including seminars on writing business plans, marketing their businesses, and obtaining access to capital; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the 9th District Business Summit is designated as an official City event; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That all City departments are directed to assist as necessary to make the 9th District Business Summit successful; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Office of the Common Council - City Clerk is authorized to accept contributions for the 9
th District Business Summit and to expend such funds for this purpose or for any purpose specified by the contribution in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the Common Council - City Clerk’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer the remaining balance of the Milwaukee Fourth of July Commission Special Purpose Account 0001-1910-S150-006300 for the purposes of this event.
