Body
Whereas, The street was constructed in 1993 and is in need of rehabilitation; and
Whereas, This project is included in the Department of Public Works Local Paving Program; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and Village of Whitefish Bay share jurisdiction ownership of the roadway and will share the construction costs; and
Whereas, The Village of Whitefish Bay will be the lead agency for construction; and
Whereas; The Village of Whitefish Bay, pending Council approval, has agreed to undertake the construction work with the City of Milwaukee paying for the portion within the City of Milwaukee limits for all construction expenses; and
Whereas; The City of Milwaukee and Village of Whitefish Bay have agreed to the scope of work and retain all responsibilities to the roadway; and
Whereas; Any cost overruns and/or changes in scope shall be approved by the Department of Public Works and the Village of Whitefish Bay with costs divided based on jurisdictional boundaries; and
Whereas, This project is programmed for construction in 2024; and
Whereas, The engineering cost was approved in Resolution File Number 231722; and
Whereas, The construction cost will be included in a future resolution; and therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public works is hereby authorized to execute the project agreement titled “Cost Sharing Memo of Understanding Between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Whitefish Bay” for the cost sharing of construction for the asphalt overlay of N. Santa Monica Blvd., copies of which are attached; and, be it
Further Resolved, That minor changes to the memo of understanding which do not change its intent are hereby approved.
