Whereas, The Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account is used to promote the City’s economic development programs; and
Whereas, The mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the US and around the globe; and
Whereas, Project Cradle Care is a program run by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority to raise awareness about disparities in maternal and infant health care outcomes for black women; and
Whereas, Project Cradle Care collects and donates infant-care related items for new and expecting mothers; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that up to $1,000 is appropriated from the 2024 Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account No. 0001-1310-S123-006300 to the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority’s Cradle Care Initiative.
