Resolution directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled “3rd Revision State/Municipal Agreement for a State-Let Highway Project” with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, and construction of North Lake Drive (STH 32) from Newberry Boulevard to Edgewood Boulevard.
Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised State/Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, and construction of North Lake Drive (STH 32) from Newberry Boulevard to Edgewood Avenue. The State/Municipal Agreement provides for 75 percent Federal and State aid and 25 percent local cost sharing for preliminary engineering. The revised total estimated cost of this project is $11,782,649.08 with a grantor share of $9,129,034.08 and a City share of $2,653,615. Construction funds for this project will be included in future resolutions.

Whereas, A revised project agreement has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the programming, design, and construction of North Lake Drive (STH 32) from Newberry Boulevard. to Edgewood Boulevard with Federal and State aid under the State Highway Rehabilitation Program; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works shall notify the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee of project cost overruns and changes in scope approved by the Department of Public Works; and
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be 100 percent liable for project cost overruns and changes in scope as approved by the Department of Public Works; and
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be liable for any cost incurred by the State should the City decide to withdraw from the project; and
