Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of Administration to promote the One Milwaukee Citizen-Led Transformational Fund Special Purpose Account to the philanthropic community for possible contributions.

Body

Whereas, The One Milwaukee Citizen-Led Transformation Fund Special Purpose Account (SPA) in the 2024 Adopted Budget contains $2.4 million made available by the substitution of unallocated and reprogrammed American Rescue Plan Act funds; and

 

Whereas, This funding is intended to be allocated by the Common Council for programs that uplift the residents of Milwaukee and transform the community by strengthening support to residents most in need; and

 

Whereas, The 2024 Budget was adopted by Common Council File Number 230001 on November 3, 2023; and

 

Whereas, Amendment 2 placed a footnote in the 2024 Budget stating, “The Department of Administration shall promote the One Milwaukee Citizen-led Transformational Fund Special Purpose Account to the philanthropic community for possible contributions; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Administration shall promote the One Milwaukee Citizen-Led Transformational Fund Special Purpose Account to the philanthropic community for possible contributions.
