Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Neighborhood Services to develop a deconstruction plan for one- to 4-unit residential structures working with Northcott Neighborhood House. It also directs that the plan be reported to the Common Council within 30 days.
Body
Whereas; Common Council File Number 170188 created deconstruction requirements for the removal of Milwaukee’s older and more historic primary dwelling structures; and
Whereas, The 2019 Budget provided general obligation borrowing authority for the purpose of blight removal; and
Whereas, Approximately $700,000 of borrowing authority remains from the 2019 allocation; and
Whereas, Northcott Neighborhood House has the technical expertise and capacity to provide residential deconstruction services and job training; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Neighborhood Services is directed to develop a plan for the deconstruction of one- to 4-unit residential structures working with Northcott Neighborhood House; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner shall report the deconstruction plan to the Common Council within 30 days of the adoption of this resolution.
