This resolution approves a Fifth Amendment to Lease Agreement between the City and Verizon Wireless Personal Communications, LP, for placement of PCS antennas at the City’s fire station at 5600 W. Oklahoma Ave. This amendment provides for a reconfiguration and upgrading of equipment installation, at this fire station.

Body
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 960170 on June 25, 1996, establishing a policy for the leasing of City facilities for the provision of wireless telecommunications services; and

Whereas, The Common Council further adopted Resolution File Number 991575 on February 18, 2000, amending said policy; and

Whereas, These resolutions designated the Department of Administration as the City’s sole negotiating agent for marketing City-owned sites to communication services vendors; and

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 001489 on February 27, 2001, approving a lease agreement with Verizon Wireless for placement of personal communications services (PSC) antennas at the fire station at 5600 W. Oklahoma Ave.; and

Whereas, the Lease has been amended on four previous occasions, most recently as approved by Common Council File Number 201684; and

Whereas, The Department of Administration has been working with the Fire and Police Departments and the City Attorney’s Office to negotiate an amendment to the lease agreement with Verizon Wireless Personal Communications, LP, relating to reconfiguration and upgrading of its equipment installation, at this fire station; now, therefore, be it
