This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works. Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
6th Aldermanic District
N. 5th St. - N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. to W. Keefe Ave. (WT410210606) File Number 191657: Relaying water main and lead replacement of service. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $0. Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $590,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $610,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
Various Districts:
Movable Bridge Upgrades (BR100230105) (File 221269): Movable bridge mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical upgrades (City Share Non-Assessable Structure Fund - $250,000 additional Funds). The total estimated cost for this project is $350,000. The engineering is anticipated to be completed during 2023.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
