Resolution to dedicate certain City-owned land for public right-of-way purposes at 357 East Howard Avenue, in the 13th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution permits the City of Milwaukee on behalf of the Milwaukee Board of School Directors to dedicate City-owned land for public right-of-way purposes.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has fee title to the parcel of land at 357 East Howard Avenue (“Property”) at the Bay View Montessori School; and
Whereas, The dedication of the Property as public right-of-way will correct the legal description to include a portion of the Property that includes the sidewalk; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works (“DPW”) is requesting the dedication to correct the legal description and to facilitate a reconstruction project on East Howard Ave; and
Whereas, A copy of the related map is attached to this Common Council file; and
Whereas, DPW has approved the legal description and Milwaukee Public Schools has no objection to the dedication of this Property for public right-of-way purposes; and
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has reviewed and approved said dedication of land for public right-of-way purposes; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Property is set aside and dedicated for public right-of-way purposes and the Commissioner of Department of City Development, or designee, is authorized to execute the documents as may be necessary to effectuate this resolution and dedicate the Property.
