Analysis
This resolution removes a deed restriction imposed by the City of Milwaukee that joined the former tax-deed properties at 5413 West Lisbon Avenue and 2510 North 55th Street, and adds a new restriction joining 5413 West Lisbon Avenue to the former tax-deed property at 5419 West Lisbon Avenue.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee conveyed 5413 West Lisbon Avenue and 2510 North 55th Street to Battlebox Studios Limited on May 26, 2021; and

Whereas, The Deed for the properties was recorded in the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds office as document number 11119434 (“The Deed”); and

Whereas, The Deed contains a joining restriction combining 5413 West Lisbon Avenue and 2510 North 55th Street; and

Whereas, The Joining restriction contained within The Deed can not be released without the approval of the Common Council; and

Whereas, Battlebox Studios Limited seeks to sell 2510 North 55th Street and retain ownership of 5413 West Lisbon Avenue; and

Whereas, Battlebox Studios Limited also owns and operates business properties adjacent to 5413 West Lisbon Avenue that were former tax-deed properties; and

Whereas, Battlebox Studios seeks to combine the property at 5413 West Lisbon Avenue with the former tax-deed property at 5419 West Lisbon Avenue to continue business operations; and

Whereas, The Department of City Development and the local alderperson support Battlebox Studios’ efforts; and

Whereas, The Joining restriction on The Deed must be removed to facilitate the sale; now, therefore, be it
