Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $1,780,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $1,916,000.
Analysis
This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works. The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,780,000. The total estimated cost of these projects is $1,916,000.

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
8th Aldermanic District
S. 22nd St. - W. Greenfield Ave. to W. Orchard St. (SM495220057) File Number 221268: Installing new storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund --$85,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $95,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
8th and 12th Aldermanic Districts:
N./S. 16th Street Viaduct over the Menomonee River (BR100230107): N./S. 16th Street South Abutment Repairs. (City Share Nonassessable Structure Fund -- $400,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $400,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

S. Mabbett Ave. - E. Bennett Ave. to 60’ North of E. Oklahoma Ave. (SM495220060) File Number 221268: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund --$120,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $132,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
E. Oklahoma Ave. - S. Mabbett Ave. to S. Pennsylvania Ave. (SM495220058) File Number 221268: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund --$55,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $67,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
S. Pennsylvania Ave. - 176’ North of E. Oklahoma Ave. to E. Oklahoma Ave. (SM495220059) File Number 221268: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund --$90,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $102,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
W. Garfield Ave. - N. 47th St. to N. 49th St. (WT410220636) File Number 201552: Relaying water main and lead replacement of service. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $0. Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $270,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $285,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
