Analysis
The City previously accepted an Energy Innovation Grant from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin’s Office of Energy Innovation to support energy efficiency improvements at various fire stations. This resolution authorizes the City Comptroller to transfer $443,642 in expenditure authority from that grant from the Department of Administration to the Department of Public Works, which will contract for this work on behalf of the Fire Department.

Whereas, On July 12, 2022, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 220250, accepting and funding an Energy Innovation Grant from Public Service Commission of Wisconsin’s Office of Energy Innovation (PSC-OEI) to implement significant energy efficiency upgrades at Fire Department engine houses and to provide energy awareness training; and

Whereas, The Department of Administration - Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO) convenes the City’s Energy Reduction Team comprised of facility managers from various City departments to systematically work toward increasing energy efficiency of City facilities, which will help control long-term facility operating costs to taxpayers; and

Whereas, ECO applied for, and the City received, a grant award in the amount of $443,642 from the PSC-OEI; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has agreed to handle the procurement of building facility improvements funded through the grant on behalf of the Fire Department; now, therefore, be it
