Minutes note: Mr. Barbeau summarized the proposed amendments in Chapter 4 and Chapter 10 of the 2023 Agency Plan, included on the agenda. He also mentioned that HACM is working on a new revised Designated Housing Plan that will come before the Board in the future, then be submitted to HUD. A Commissioner asked who will work on the collection of data for the Designated Housing Plan. Mr. Barbeau stated himself, Patricia Dee and possibly Samantha Kearney, HACM’s Community Data Analyst, will be working on the plan.

Resolution Approving the Submission of a Proposed Significant Amendment to the 2023 Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee Agency Plan regarding General Occupancy Public Housing

 

Analysis

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) requests to submit a significant amendment to the 2023 PHA Annual Plan; and

 

WHEREAS; the significant amendment will update the 2023 Annual Plan and the Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP) to reflect the current classification of the low-income public housing stock as “General Occupancy” per HUD Definition, and removing previous references to differentiated housing types per development or part of a development as part of a Designated Housing Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, a notice of a public hearing inviting comments on the proposed amendments has been published, and the public hearing has been held, and the Resident Advisory Board has also discussed the proposed amendments; now therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that the proposed significant amendment to the PHA Annual Plan and ACOP be approved; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary-Executive Director authorize the appropriate staff to take all actions necessary to implement this policy.
