Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various non assessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $65,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $727,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $65,000 with the total cost estimated to be $727,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

5th Aldermanic District

 

W. Good Hope Rd. - N. 107th St. to N. 124th St. (SM499200015) File Number 220193: Installing Bioswales. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $45,000 additional funding). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $380,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

 

9th Aldermanic District

 

N. 60th St. - 800’ North of W. Hemlock St. to 1000’ North of W. Hemlock St. (SM495230011) Relaying storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $347,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
