This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) to accept and expend $50,000 in contributions from the Milwaukee Urban Forestry Fund administered by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for supporting a community tree planting program engaged with residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to address tree equity and improve tree canopy in neighborhoods across the city for potential tree planting projects on public or private property.

Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City, and

Whereas, supporting a community tree planting program engaged with residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to address tree equity and improve tree canopy in neighborhoods across the city for potential tree planting projects on public or private property is an eligible project by the Milwaukee Urban Forestry Fund; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) is authorized to accept $50,000 in contributions from the Milwaukee Urban Forestry Fund administered by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for supporting a community tree planting program engaged with residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to address tree equity and improve tree canopy in neighborhoods across the city for potential tree planting projects on public or private property; and, be it
