Title
Resolution relating to acceptance and funding of a FY2021 Assistance to Firefighters (AFG) Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to accept and fund a 2021 AFG Equipment Grant from the Department of Homeland Security in the amount of $44,100 which includes a City Match of $4,009.10. The purpose of the grant is to protect the health and safety of the public and firefighting personnel through the purchase of Powered Laminated Glass Cutting Equipment.

Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA Program #97.044, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for the FY2021 AFG Grant to purchase Powered Laminated Glass Cutting Equipment; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 08/29/22 to 08/28/24 would cost $44,100 of which $40,090.90 (91%) would be provided by the grantor and $4,009.10 (9%) would be provided by the city; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, the Fire Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2023 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled FY2021 Assistance to Firefighters Grant -Powered Laminated Glass Cutting Equipment:

1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
