Title

Resolution directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled “2^nd Revision State/Municipal Agreement for a State-Let Urbanized Area STP-Urban Program Project” with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, and construction of West Vliet Street from N. 27^th Street to N. 12^th Street. 

Analysis

This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a State/Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, and construction of West Vliet Street from N. 27^th Street to N. 12^th Street.  The revised total estimated cost of this project is $9,631,629 with a grantor share of $7,529,374 and a City share of $2,102,255. 

Body

Whereas, A revised project agreement has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the programming, design, and construction of West Vliet Street from N. 27^th Street to N. 12^th Street. with Federal aid under the Surface Transportation Program - Urban (STP-U) Program; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works shall notify the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee of project cost overruns and changes in scope approved by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be 100 percent liable for project cost overruns and changes in scope as approved by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be liable for any cost incurred by the State should the City decide to withdraw from the project; and

Whereas, Construction funds for the project were previously established in separate resolutions 212037 and 220757; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the agreement for the programming, design, and construction of the aforementioned STP-U project with Federal and/or State aid, copies of which are attached to Common Council Resolution File Number _________, and are incorporated into this resolution by reference as though set forth in full,
