Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $3,096,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $21,718,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $3,096,000 with the total cost estimated to be $21,718,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
8th Aldermanic District
S. 22nd St. - W. Greenfield Ave. to W. Orchard St. (SM495220057) Installing new storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- 10,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $74,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
14th Aldermanic District
S. Pennsylvania Ave. - 176’ North of E. Oklahoma Ave to E. Oklahoma Ave. (SM495220059) Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $81,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
S. Mabbett Ave. - E. Bennett Ave. to 60’ North of E. Oklahoma Ave. (SM495220060) Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $111,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
E. Oklahoma Ave - S. Mabbett Ave. to S. Pennsylvania Ave. (SM495220058) Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $182,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.

Administration cost for Sidewalk Replacement (ST230230001) Laying concrete walk. Doing all necessary grading pertaining to said work. (Non- Assessable Sidewalk Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $200,000). The total 2023 budget for the sidewalk replacement program is $1,000,000.
Administration cost for 2023 Alley Paving (ST212230001) (Nonassessable Alley Paving Fund -- $100,000). The total 2023 budget for alley paving is $800,000.
Bridge Indirect and Administration (BR100230101) Preliminary engineering and administration of bridge projects. (City share Nonassessable Structure Fund -- $150,000). The total estimated cost for this project is $150,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2023 construction season.
Bridge Safety Inspection (BR100220102) File Number 211343: Federal and State mandated safety inspection of in-service bridges. (City share Nonassessable Structure Fund -- $20,000 additional funds). The total estimated cost for this project is $230,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2022 construction season.
