Resolution authorizing the Fire Department to accept a donation of Controlled Substance Lock Boxes from Community Advocates.

 

Analysis

This file authorizes the Fire Department to accept a donation of 12 Controlled Substance Lock Boxes valued at $20,400 from Community Advocates to be used on MFD paramedic units.   This donation will provide a secure container to store federally controlled medications and provide a biometric tracking feature for those accessing medications.

 

Body

Whereas, City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances 304-24 allows acceptance of donations to the City of Milwaukee with Common Council approval; and

 

Whereas, Community Advocates has offered the donation of 12 Controlled Substance Lock Boxes to the Fire Department to support the organizations’ shared focus on reducing the negative effects of controlled substances on the community; and

 

Whereas, The Controlled Substance Lock Boxes will provide increased security for federally controlled medications and deter attempted theft or diversion; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City accepts with appreciation and gratitude the donation of Controlled Substance Lock Boxes from Community Advocates.
