Body
Whereas, The street was last resurfaced in 1986 and is in need of rehabilitation; and
Whereas, This project is included in the Department of Public Works High Impact Paving Program; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and Village of Shorewood share jurisdiction ownership of the roadway and will share the engineering, oversight, and construction costs; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will be the lead agency of the project design and construction; and
Whereas; The Village of Shorewood, pending Board approval, has agreed to 50/50 cost sharing for all engineering, oversight, and construction expenses; and
Whereas; The City of Milwaukee and Village of Shorewood have agreed to the scope of work and retain all responsibilities to the roadway; and
Whereas; Any cost overruns and/or changes in scope shall be approved by the Department of Public Works and the Village of Shorewood with costs divided equally; and
Whereas, This project is programmed for construction in 2023; and
Whereas, The preliminary engineering was approved in Resolution File Number 220408; and
Whereas, Funding for the construction phase of the project will be included in a future resolution; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public works is hereby authorized to execute the project agreement titled “Cost Sharing Memo of Understanding Between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Shorewood” for the cost sharing of the engineering and construction for the asphalt overlay and corner curb ramp reconstruction of E. Edgewood Avenue, copies of which are attached; and, be it
Further Resolved, That minor changes to the memo of understanding which do not change its intent are hereby approved.
