Title

Resolution amending Common Council Resolution File Number 211910 relating to the creation of the American Rescue Plan Act Funding Allocation Task Force.

Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council Resolution File Number 211910, adopted June 21, 2022, which created the American Rescue Act Plan Act Funding Allocation Task Force, by providing that the Mayor may appoint another individual to the position reserved for the Chief Equity Officer, if the position of Chief Equity Officer is unoccupied at such time as the Task Force begins its work. 

Body

Whereas, The Common Council, in Resolution File Number 211910, adopted June 21,2022, established the American Rescue Act Task Force to provide recommendations to the Common Council for the allocation of certain second tranche American Rescue Plan Act funding; and

 

Whereas, That resolution set forth the members of the Task Force, including “The Chief Equity Officer;” and

 

Whereas, The position of Chief Equity Officer is presently unoccupied; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Resolution File Number 211910, adopted June 21, 2022, is amended by deleting the text of Item 7 in the “Resolved” clause and inserting the following in lieu thereof:

 

“7.The Chief Equity Officer or designee, or the Mayor’s designee if the position of Chief Equity Officer is unoccupied at such time as the Task Force begins its work. If the Mayor appoints an individual who is not the Chief Equity Officer, the appointed individual shall work closely with the staff of the Office of Equity and Inclusion to fulfill the duties of the Task Force.”
