Analysis

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is soliciting project applications for funding in fiscal years 2022-2023 under the Federal Transportation Alternatives Program; and

Whereas, Projects approved for the Federal Transportation Alternatives Program will be funded with an 80 percent grantor share and 20 percent local share; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has identified one project for a planning and feasibility study; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has submitted an application for the following project:

1. South Powerline Trail Planning Study
; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $210,000 with a grantor share of $168,000 and a local share of $42,000;

Whereas, A local resolution of support for the proposed project must be executed and submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation prior to August 5, 2022; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the City Engineer is authorized to submit an application to the Federal Transportation Alternatives Program for the following project:

1. South Powerline Trail Planning Study
