Title
Resolution relating to jurisdictional maintenance responsibilities for West McAuley Place, in the 4th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution provides that any jurisdictional maintenance responsibilities established by Common Council File Number 64-3292 that were applicable to the roadway formerly known as West McAuley Place shall no longer apply to that property.
Body
Whereas, On January 26, 1965, the Common Council adopted File Number 64-3292, a resolution establishing jurisdictional maintenance responsibilities for roadways constructed or reconstructed under contract in relation to the construction of the Marquette Interchange and in conformance with the Federal Aid Highway Pact; and

Whereas, On March 17, 1970, the Common Council passed File Number 68-3188, an ordinance establishing the name “West McAuley Place” for a particular roadway constructed under the Marquette Interchange contract on State of Wisconsin-owned freeway lands as a connecting roadway between North 8th Street and North 9th Street; and

Whereas, Common Council File Number 212003 is a resolution vacating North 8th Street and North 9th Street south of West Michigan Street to their termini; and

Whereas, The vacation of these street segments renders West McAuley Place inaccessible and unusable; and

Whereas, Common Council File Number 220243 repeals the ordinance naming West McAuley Place; and

Whereas, Upon vacation of North 8th Street and North 9th Street south of West Michigan Street, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will close the connecting roadway between these streets, thereby rendering any provisions of File Number 64-3292 applicable to West McAuley Place irrelevant; now, therefore, be it
