Title
Resolution approving amendment number 2 to contract number 18-022 with Otis Elevator Company for Elevator Maintenance and Repair at various sites.
HACM is requesting to exercise its option to renew the contract for a second and final amendment pursuant to the terms of the contract. The current contract authority (the initial three years, plus the first one-year amendment) is $1,019,914 not-to-exceed and expires 5/31/2022. The second amendment will add $332,949 not-to-exceed and extend the contract to 5/31/2023. A 3.28% increase in the hourly rate for repairs is requested by the contractor; all other terms and conditions of the contract remain in effect.

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (Housing Authority) previously authorized and approved entering into a contract with Otis Elevator Company for Elevator Maintenance and Repair Services at Various Sites; and
WHEREAS, Otis Elevator Company has performed the services satisfactorily during the initial term of the contract and the term of a previously approved one-year extension, and it is in the best interests of the Housing Authority to extend the contract for another year; and
WHEREAS, Otis Elevator Company has agreed to renew the contract at the same terms, conditions, and rates for scheduled maintenance as the original contract with a modest increase in the hourly rate for repairs as needed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Housing Authority that they hereby authorize and approve amending Contract Number 18-022 with Otis Elevator Company for an additional $332,949.000 not-to-exceed in contract authority and an extension of the contract for one year for the term June 1, 2022 through May 31, 2023; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper officers of the Housing Authority be and hereby are authorized and directed to execute said amendment for and on behalf of the Housing Authority; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that all other terms and conditions of the contract not hereby amended shall remain unmodified and in full force and effect; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that all of above is contingent upon receiving the approval of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, if required; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that all acts previously performed relative to this matter by the Commissioners and the Secretary-Executive Director of the Housing Authority be and hereby are approved, ratified, and confirmed in all respects.
