Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of up to $9,000 from the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division to pay moving costs on behalf of the Milwaukee Police Department associated with the moving of the Milwaukee Police Department and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division joint task force.
Body:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation, and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, The Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division has offered to pay up to $9,000 on behalf of the Milwaukee Police Department for costs associated with moving the Milwaukee Police Department and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division joint task force; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept this donation of up to $9,000; and, be it
Further Resolved, That such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
