Title

Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of a retired armored transport vehicle from Garda.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of a retired armored transport vehicle from Garda.  The retired armored transport vehicle will be used as a nuisance surveillance vehicle.

Body

Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates, the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and

 

Whereas, Garda has offered to donate a retired armored transport vehicle for use by the Milwaukee Police Department; and

 

Whereas, This retired armored transport vehicle will be used as a “nuisance surveillance vehicle”, deterring and documenting disruptive and illegal activities that interfere with the enjoyment of life or property in the City of Milwaukee; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept this donation of a retired armored transport vehicle.
