Resolution relating to acceptance and funding of a Green Solutions grant from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District for the installation of bioswales in the service drive median areas of West Oklahoma Avenue from South 61st Street to South 72nd Street, in the 11th Aldermanic District.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works, Infrastructure Services Division, to accept a Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Green Solutions grant funding for the construction of bioswales with a maximum reimbursement amount of $115,000. The bioswales will be constructed in the service drive median of West Oklahoma Avenue between South 61st Street and South 72nd Street. The resolution also authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Green Solutions Funding Agreement with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District to install said bioswales.

Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is responsible for collecting and treating wastewater from local sewerage systems; and

Whereas, Green infrastructure reduces the volume of stormwater in the sewer system and the amount of pollutants discharged to surface waters; and

Whereas, The City proposes bioswales in the service drive medians of West Oklahoma Avenue between South 61st Street and South 72nd Street; and

Whereas, The bioswales project provides water quality benefit in compliance with the City’s stormwater discharge permit with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR);

Whereas, MMSD desires to promote the installation of green infrastructure practices such as bioswales and is willing to provide the City funding as part of its Green Solutions Program; now, therefore, be it
