Title:
Resolution relative to the elevated water storage tank owned by Milwaukee Water Works and located in the City of Greenfield.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Water Works to take necessary steps to facilitate the City of Greenfield’s name being painted on the elevated water storage tank owned by Milwaukee Water Works and located in the City of Greenfield provided that this can be accomplished at no cost to the Milwaukee Water Works.
Body:
Whereas, The Department of Public Works - Water Works owns and operates a two million gallon elevated water storage tank located on Waterford Avenue in the City of Greenfield; and
Whereas, Specifications are currently being prepared for the inspection, repair of any deficiencies, and painting the interior and exterior of this water storage tank, currently scheduled for summer/fall of 2010; and
Whereas, The Mayor of Greenfield has requested that the City of Greenfield’s name be painted on the elevated tank and Milwaukee Water Works has no objection to granting this request; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of The City of Milwaukee, that Milwaukee Water Works is authorized to take necessary steps to grant the City of Greenfield’s request, including adding a specification for this work as an alternate bid in the tank painting specification, and accepting compensation from the City of Greenfield to cover all costs related to this enhancement to the tank painting project.
