Title

A substitute ordinance relating to prevailing wage requirements in development agreements.

Sections

355-13-3 rc

Analysis

This ordinance repeals and recreates prevailing wage requirements to reflect a change in state law.  Currently, any developer receiving direct financial assistance for a project must ensure that all contractors and subcontractors engaged on a project pay prevailing wage rates to their construction employes and allow the department of administration access to employment records to monitor compliance with this provision.  Due to a change in state law, a developer must now provide employment records relating to prevailing wage to the Wisconsin department of workforce development.  This ordinance amends code provisions so that the department of administration shall have the right to monitor and inspect records that demonstrate compliance with that statute.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1.  Section 355-13-3 of the code is repealed and recreated to read:

355-13.                     Other Requirements.

3.  PREVAILING WAGE.  The developer of any project receiving direct financial assistance may be subject to s. 66.0904, Wis. Stats.  The department of administration shall have the right to monitor and inspect records that demonstrate compliance with that statute.
