Analysis
This resolution approves the extension of an existing executive fellow partnership between the City of Milwaukee and FUSE Corps. The executive fellow will continue to be hosted by the Department of City Development in partnership with the Community Development Alliance to advance the recommendations in the Collective Affordable Housing Plan.

Whereas, In 2021, the Department of City Development (“DCD”) partnered with FUSE Corps to host a FUSE executive fellow to work on a multi-stakeholder affordable housing plan; and

Whereas, DCD is one of 11 core partners of the Community Development Alliance (“CDA”) which includes representation from several government entities, philanthropy, and other civic institutions; and

Whereas, Each partner of the CDA contributes staff time, financial, or other resources to support the collective work that benefits each member and the public; and

Whereas, The FUSE executive fellow was a core part of the project management team to develop the Collective Affordable Housing Plan that included input from over 100 stakeholders representing resident-based organizations, housing practitioners, housing funders, and many others; and

Whereas, The plan outlines strategies to support 32,000 additional Black and Latino homeowners, among other objectives; and

Whereas, Though most of the objectives have been met, support is still needed from the FUSE executive fellow to assist with engagement and advocacy; and

Whereas, FUSE Corps is a national nonprofit organization that has partnered with local governments across the United States to develop plans to address local challenges including affordable housing; and
