Analysis
This resolution authorizes settlement of claims raised by the plaintiff, Andra Williams, in the lawsuit entitled Andra Williams v. City of Milwaukee, et al., Case No.19-CV-118, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin for the total amount of $350,000.

Whereas, Plaintiff Andra Williams filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and certain employees of the City of Milwaukee, Case No. 19-CV-118; and
Whereas, Andra Williams and the City of Milwaukee have entered into an agreement to settle the claims raised by him in the above-referenced lawsuit for the total amount of $350,000; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends that the City of Milwaukee settle this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue the following City checks totaling $350,000 payable as follows: $233,333.34 made out to “Andra Williams” and $116,666.66 made out to “Rettko Law Offices, S.C.” as soon as practicable, in full and final settlement of this lawsuit, to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 636506, Fund No. 0001, Organization No. 1490, Program No. 2632, Sub Class No. S118; and be it
Further Resolved, That for and in consideration of the above-referenced payment, Mr. Williams will provide to the City a release as approved by the City Attorney of any and all claims arising out of or in any way related to the subject incidents alleged in Andra Williams v. City of Milwaukee, et al., Eastern District of Wisconsin, Case No.19-CV-118.
