Title

Substitute resolution relating to legislative bills.

Analysis

This resolution expresses the City of Milwaukee’s support for Wisconsin Senate Bill 410 (SB-410), Impounding of vehicles used in certain traffic offenses, conditional on the following amendments being made to the bill:

1. Eliminating the provision allowing for impounding of a vehicle for license suspension.

2. Allowing vehicles to be impounded up to 90 days, instead of for 90 days.

Body

Whereas, The Judiciary and Legislation Committee of the Common Council has recommended the following position on the bill hereinafter listed and the Common Council being advised of said matters; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it supports Wisconsin Senate Bill 410 (SB-410), Impounding of vehicles used in certain traffic offenses legislative bill, provided the bill includes the following amendments:

 

1. Eliminating the provision allowing for impounding of a vehicle for license suspension.

2. Allowing vehicles to be impounded up to 90 days, instead of for 90 days.

 

; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs the City’s lobbyists to appear before the proper committees to support this bill and use their best endeavors to have it enacted into law, viz:
