Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the Office of Violence Prevention to enter into agreements and receive funds from Milwaukee County to fund the 414 Life program

Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the Office of Violence Prevention to accept and expend $300,500 from Milwaukee County to fund the 414Life violence interruption and credible messenger programs.

Body
Whereas, Milwaukee County and the City of Milwaukee share the goal of reducing interpersonal violence through numerous strategies including violence interruption; and

Whereas, Milwaukee County Board file 20-742 authorized County officials to expend funding totaling $300,500 for credible messenger efforts through the Milwaukee Health Department’s Office of Violence Prevention, now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of the grant from Milwaukee County is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2021 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled 414Life - Milwaukee County Share:

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Levels; budget to these Project/Grant values the amounts required under the grant agreement; and, be it

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;

Expend from the 2021 grant budget funds for equipment as specified in the grant budget;
