Substitute resolution authorizing the Health Department to enter into a grant agreement relating to the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services Tuberculosis Dispensary Program.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Health to execute a grant agreement with the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services under the Tuberculosis Dispensary Program.
Body
Whereas, Tuberculosis continues to be a public health concern; and
Whereas, The State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services Tuberculosis Dispensary Program grants fund services to identify cases of tuberculosis in high-risk groups and the early treatment persons in close and high-risk contact with individuals with tuberculosis, children and persons who are immunosuppressed; and
Whereas, Grants received through the state’s Tuberculosis Dispensary Program will help ensure the health and wellbeing of Milwaukee residents; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Health is authorized to execute a grant agreement with the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services under the Tuberculosis Dispensary Program substantially as drafted, a copy of which is attached to this file.
