Title
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Restorative Justice Practice: Circle Keeping Initiative Grant
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to accept and fund a Restorative Justice Practice: Circle Keeping Initiative Grant project from the Institute of Museum and Library Services in the amount of $50,000 with a City share of $74,443.12 for a total project cost of $124,443.12. The purpose of the project is to implement a program to provide youth with increased communication and conflict resolution skills.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to implement a program to provide youth with increased communication and conflict resolution skills; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 11/01/2021 to 10/31/2022 would cost $124,443.12 of which $50,000.00 (40%) would be provided by the grantor and $74,443.12 (60%) would be the City share; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2021 Special Revenue--Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Restorative Justice Practice: Circle Keeping Initiative:
