Substitute resolution relative to acceptance and funding of the 2022 Medical Assistance (MA) Outreach Forward Health Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Medical Assistance (MA) Outreach Forward Health Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services in the amount of $854,379 comprised of $418,596 (49%) grantor share and $435,783 (51%) City or Other Eligible Grant Match Share. The purpose of the project is to build upon The City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) Medical Assistance Outreach Program (MA Outreach) success, and increase program staffing to improve access to and utilization of primary and preventive healthcare for low income individuals eligible for expanded BadgerCare Plus program services.

BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services to improve access to and utilization of primary and preventive health care for low income individuals eligible for expanded BadgerCare Plus program services; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/1/2022 to 12/31/2022 would cost $854,379 comprised of $418,596 (49%) grantor share and $435,783 (51%) City or Other Eligible Grant Match Share; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
