Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to enter into two Local Force Account agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the installation of traffic signal improvements using City forces at various intersections citywide in various Aldermanic Districts at a total estimated cost of $700,956.04, with an estimated grantor share of $630,860.43, and an estimated City share of $70,095.61 and to install these improvements upon execution of the agreements. This resolution also authorizes the Comptroller to establish and transfer funds to the appropriate accounts for the project.

Whereas, Two Project Agreements for the installation of traffic signal improvements under the Highway Safety Improvement Program were approved by the Common Council under File Number 191374; and

Whereas, The two proposed projects include the installation of larger 12 inch signal indications at 145 intersections Citywide as shown in the attached maps; and

Whereas, The Highway Safety Improvement Program is intended to reduce the number and severity of crashes; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of these projects is $649,033.37 for the upgrade of traffic control signals; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost for state review for the projects is $51,922.67; and

Whereas, $70,095.61 is not reimbursable and is included in the Division’s 2021 Capital Purpose Project Grant Number ST320210000; and

Whereas, $584,130.03 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2021 Capital...
