This resolution authorizes settlement of the lawsuit of Church Mutual, et al. v. City of Milwaukee, et al., Case No. 08CV003115. in the amount of $15,000.00.
Body
Whereas, Church Mutual Insurance Company has filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee seeking in excess of $50,000.00, plus costs, disbursements and fees; and
Whereas, The claimant has agreed to settle the lawsuit in the amount of $15,000.00; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it is expeditious and just to pay this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $15,000.00, payable to the order of the Trust Account of Piper & Schmidt, in full and final settlement of this claim, upon receipt of a Release Of Claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, City of Milwaukee charged to the Water Works Department Fund, Account No. 006300 Fund 0410 Org 6410 Program 2631 Subclass R643.
