Title

Substitute resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the 2021 - 2022 LRN Data Integration Grant from Department of Health Services and Center of Disease Control.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the 2021 - 2022 LRN Data Integration Grant from Department of Health Services and Center of Disease Control in the amount of $136,672 100% grant share with no city match. The purpose of the grant is to provide technical assistance, training and information to state and local public health and clinical laboratories in controlling communicable diseases, chronic diseases and disorders, and other preventable health conditions.

 

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Department of Health Services and Center of Disease Control to provide technical assistance, training and information to state and local public health and clinical laboratories in controlling communicable diseases, chronic diseases and disorders, and other preventable health conditions; and

 

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 06.01.2021 to 05.31.2022 would cost $136,672 100% grantor share with no city match; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the Department of Health Services and Center of Disease Control is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2021 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Grant:

2.                     Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and, be it

 

3.                     Establish the necessary City Share Project Values; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

 

1.                     Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date; and

 

2.                     Expend from the 2021 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment; and

 

3.                     Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2021 Positions Ordinance C.C. File Number 200537, should be amended as follows:
