Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the 2021 - 2024 ARPA COVID Recovery Fund Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in the amount of $3,695,600 with no city match. The purpose of the grant is to provide resources to meet and address emergent public health needs, including measures to counter the spread of COVID-19, provision of care to those impacted by the virus, and programs or services that address disparities in public health that have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the 2021 - 2024 ARPA COVID Recovery Fund Grant to provide resources to meet and address emergent public health needs, including measures to counter the spread of COVID-19, provision of care to those impacted by the virus, and programs or services that address disparities in public health that have been exacerbated by the pandemic; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 03.01.2021 to 12.31.2024 would cost $3,695,600 would be provided entirely by the grantor with no city match and; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
