Analysis

This ordinance increases fees for selected examinations and inspections, effective January 1, 2022.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 200-33-13-a-1 of the code is repealed and recreated to read:

 

200-33. Fees.

13. ELEVATORS.

a. Inspection Fees.

a-1. Periodic inspections and reinspections:

a-1-a. Class 1, 2, 3 and 6 (up to 4 landings): $170 for hydraulic elevators, and $170 for traction elevators.

a-1-b. Class 1, 2, 3 and 6 (5-10 landings): $210 for hydraulic elevators, and $210 for traction elevators.

a-1-c. Class 1, 2, 3 and 6 (5 to 10 landings): $170.

a-1-d. Each additional landing: $12.

a-1-e. Class 7: $360.

a-1-f. Class 2A, 4, 5 and 8: $180.

a-1-g. Each reinspection of an elevator shall be charged an inspection fee the same as subpars. a to f until the elevator is certified.

 

Part 2. Section 200-33-52-c of the code is amended to read:

 

52. SPRINKLER, STANDPIPE AND SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS.

c. Periodic Inspections.

c-1. Chemical suppression: [[$30]] >>$35<< each; minimum fee: [[$65]] >>$75<<.

c-2. Fire hose standpipe systems (fire department first aid or combined): [[$10]] >>$12<< each outlet; minimum fee [[$65]] >>$75<<.

c-3. Sprinkler systems:

c-3-a. 0-200 heads: [[$90]] >>$110<< minimum fee.

c-3-b. 201-500 heads: [[$90]] >>$110<< for the first 200 heads, plus [[$25]] >>$30<< per 100 heads, or fraction thereof, up to 500 heads.

c-3-c. 501-1,000 heads: [[$150]] >>$175<< for the first 500 heads, plus [[$25]] >>$30<< per 100 heads, or fraction thereof, up to 1,000 heads.

c-3-d. 1,001-5,000 heads: [[$265]] >>$300<< for the first 1,000 heads, plus [[$25]] >>$30<< per 100 heads, or fraction thereof, up to 5,000 heads.

c-3-e. Over 5,000 heads: [[$1,100]] >>$1,300<< for the first 5,000 heads, plus [[$25]] >>$30<< per 100 heads, or fraction thereof, over 5,000 heads.

c-4. Spray booths: [[$30]] >>$35<< each; minimum fee: [[$65]] >>$75<<.

c-5. Water curtains: [[$30]] >>$35<< each; minimum fee: [[$65]] >>$75<<.

c-6. Reinspection fee because of noncompliance on fire suppression system violations: [[$75]] >>$90<<.

c-7. Sprinkler and standpipe annual inspections.

c-7-a. Period inspection-hydrant, fee per hydrant: [[$30]] >>$35<<.

c-7-b. Periodic inspection-hydrant, minimum fee: [[$65]] >>$75<<.

 

Part 3. This ordinance takes effect January 1, 2022.
