Title
Substitute resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the year 2021 United States Department of the Treasury (USDT) Emergency Rent Assistance 2 Funds.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Administration’s Community Development Grants Administration (CDGA) to accept, the Emergency Rent Assistance 2 Funds from the USDT.
Body
Whereas, the City of Milwaukee has received funds from the United States Department of the Treasury pursuant to Title V, Section 501of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (“The Act”) to be used for the purposes specified in The Act; and
Whereas, the City desires to expend a portion of the funds received under The Act for the purpose of providing rental and utility assistance to certain low income residents of the City of Milwaukee affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; and
Whereas, The operations of this grant project from 9/1/21 through 9/15/25 would cost $9,679,129.24 which will be provided as the grantor share; now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Community Development Grants Administration (CDGA) is hereby authorized to accept and allocate funding awards as shown in Attachment A; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee assures and certifies that it will comply with the regulations, policies guidelines and requirements with respect to the acceptance and use of the 2021 United States Department of the Treasury (USDT) Emergency Rent Assistance 2 Program; and, be it
Further Resolved, That acceptance of this grant is authorized and the Community Development Grants Administration shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant changes as indicated in Section 304-81 of the Milwaukee
Code of Ordinances.
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
