Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the 2021-2024 AMD Sequencing & Analytics Project E: Emerging Issues Grant from the Division of Public Health (DHS/DPH) and Center of Disease Control (CDC) in the amount of $1,370,256 100% grantor share with no city match. The purpose of the grant is to enable state and local health departments to make long-term investments in workforce and infrastructure to support sequencing and analytic capacity building in microbial genomics and bioinformatics, as well as accelerate further development of AMD capacity.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from Division of Public Health (DHS/DPH) and Center of Disease Control to make long-term investments in workforce and infrastructure to support sequencing and analytic capacity building in microbial genomics and bioinformatics, as well as accelerate further development of AMD capacity; and

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 08.01.2021 to 07.31.2024 would cost $1,370,256 100% grantor share with no city match; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the Division of Public Health (DHS/DPH) and Center of Disease Control (CDC) is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2021 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program title...
