Substitute resolution relative to acceptance and funding of the Office of Violence Prevention Recast Milwaukee Project Grant from the Department of Health and Human Services.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Office of Violence Prevention Recast Milwaukee Project Grant from the Department of Health and Human Services in the amount of $1,000,000 100% grantor share with no city match. The purpose of the grant is to assist high-risk youth and families and promote resilience and equity through implementation of evidence-based violence prevention and community youth engagement programs.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to implement evidence-based violence prevention and community youth engagement programs; and

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 09/30/2021 to 09/29/2022 would cost $1,000,000 100% grantor share with no city match; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the Department of Health and Human Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2021 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Recast Milwaukee Project Grant:
