Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2021 offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the offices and positions in the following departments:

Health Department (Clinical Services Division, Community Health Division), Library, Police Department, Department of Public Works (Infrastructure Services Division)

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 200537 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under “Health Department, Clinical Services Division”, amend footnote “(D)” and add new footnotes “(AA)”, “(BB)”, “(CC)”, “(EE)”, “(FF)”, “(II)”, and “(KK)” to read as follows:

 

“(D)                     To expire 07/31/22 unless the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Grant is extended.”

 

“(AA)                     To expire 03/31/23 unless the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Grant is extended.”

 

“(BB)                      To expire 07/31/23 unless the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity COVID 19 Expansion Grant is extended.”

 

“(CC)                     To expire 07/31/22 unless the National Association of County and City Health Officials Grant, is extended.”

 

“(EE)                     To expire 12/15/21 unless the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Project E - Emerging Issues Grant is extended.”

 

“(FF)”                     To expire 07/31/24 unless the AMD Sequencing & Analytics Project E: Emerging Issues Grant is extended.”

 

“(II)                     To expire 07/31/22 unless the Strengthening Public Health Laboratory (PHL) Preparedness through Laboratory Response Network (LRN) Project E: Emerging Issues Grant is extended.”

 

“(KK)                     To expire 05/31/22 unless the Upper Midwest Regional Accelerators for Genomic Surveillance Grant is extended.”

 

Under “Laboratory”, add footnote “(D)” to one position of “Microbiologist”; add footnote designation “(AA)” to one position of “Virologist”, one position of “Program Assistant I (S)(X)”, one position Microbiologist - Lead, one position of Microbiologist, and one position of “Laboratory Data Specialist (D)”; add footnote designation “(BB)” to two positions of “Microbiologist-Senior (X)”, one position of “Microbiologist (AA)”, one position of “Virologist (AA)”, and one position of “Bioinformatician (XX)”; add one position of “Grant/Project Manager (FF); add footnote designation “(FF)” to one position of “Bioinformatician (BB)(XX)”, one position of “Microbiologist”, and one position of “Laboratory Quality Assurance Specialist (XX)”.

 

Under “Sexual & Reproductive Health”, add footnote designation “(D)” to one position of “Disease Intervention Specialist (B)(F)(X)”, delete one position of “Communicable and Infectious Disease Program Coordinator (X)”, and add one position of “Disease Intervention Specialist Supervisor (X) (Y)”.

 

Under “Health Department, Community Health Division”, amend footnote “(H)” to read as follows:

 

“(H)                     To expire 09/29/22 unless the Recast Milwaukee Project Grant is extended.”                     

 

Under “Police Department, Office of the Chief”, add one position of “Legal Compliance Liaison Officer”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works - Infrastructure Services Division, Bridges and Buildings Decision Unit, Construction Management Unit”, delete three positions of “Bridges and Public Buildings Inspector (X)” and add three positions of “Public Works Inspector II (X)”.

 

Under “Transportation Operations Decision Unit, MultiModal Unit”, delete four positions of “Traffic Operations Assistant (X)” and add four positions of “Transportation Operations Assistant (X)”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 200537 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 21, 2021 - October 3, 2021):

 

Under “Library, Central Library Decision Unit, Education & Outreach Services Section”, add three positions of “Library Now Program Specialist”.

 

Part 3.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 4.  The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 21, 2021 (October 3, 2021).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 5.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
