Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the Health Department accept and fund the 2020-2021 COVID-19 Sequencing Grant from the University of Wisconsin System, Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), Public Health Services (PHS) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) in the amount of $147,745 100% grantor share with no city match to use viral genomics to understand the role of university students in SARS-CoV-2 transmission dynamics within their communities.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the University of Wisconsin System, Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), Public Health Services (PHS) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) to use viral genomics to understand the role of university students in SARS-CoV-2 transmission dynamics within their communities; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 09.15.2020 to 09.14.2021 would cost $147,745 provided by the grantor 100% with no city match; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of the grant from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2020 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled COVID-19 Vaccination Community Outreach Grant:
