Title
Resolution reducing the Street Light Cost Recovery Special Charge to $0 for the first and second quarters of 2021.
Analysis
This resolution reduces the Street Light Cost Recovery Special Charge fee to $0 for the first and second quarters of 2021. Collection of the special charge will resume in the third and fourth quarters of 2021.
Whereas, Section 309-57 of the Code of Ordinances provides for a Street Light Cost Recovery Special Charge as authorized by s. 66.0627, Wis. Stats.; and
Whereas, Section 309-57 of the Code requires adoption of a resolution on an annual basis that establishes the Street Light Cost-Recovery Special Charge; and
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, established the 2021 annual Street Light Cost-Recovery Special Charge in accordance with s. 309-57 of the Code; and
Whereas, Under Common Council File 200995, adopted November 24, 2020, the Street Light Cost-Recovery Special Charge was established at $1 per foot of street frontage; now, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Street Light Cost-Recovery Special Charge for the first and second quarters of 2021 shall be billed on a quarterly basis with the following annual charge:
1. Residential property: $0 per foot of street frontage - for residential property with multiple street frontage (corner lots), the shortest side shall be used for billing purposes.
2. Nonresidential property: $0 per foot of total street frontage.; and, be it
Further resolved, That the Street Light Cost-Recovery Special Charge for the third and fourth quarters of 2021 shall be billed on a quarterly basis with the following annual charge:
1. Residential property: $1 per foot of street frontage - for residential property with multiple street frontage (corner lots), the shortest side shall be used for billing purposes.
