Title

Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Milwaukee and Rubicon Global, LLC, regarding a waste data pilot project.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Milwaukee and Rubicon Global, LLC, (“Rubicon”) for the purposes of collaborating on a pilot project allowing the City to test Rubicon’s technology-enabled suite of products to improve the impact and efficiency of its residential waste and recycling systems.

 

Body

Whereas, Rubicon has developed a technology-enabled suite of systems and methods for monitoring waste management services provided by waste hauler vehicles in real-time, enabling users to effectively measure and manage the impact and efficiency of waste removal services; and

 

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works provides solid waste and recycling collection services to approximately 181,000 residential customers; and

 

Whereas, Rubicon and the City agree to participate in a pilot project to help the City demonstrate the efficacy of Rubicon’s technology to improve residential waste and recycling systems; and

 

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee and Rubicon have developed a MOU to provide the basis for the parties’ relationship under the pilot project and describe the key principles and terms which will apply to the pilot project; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the MOU with Rubicon; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City is authorized to make minor changes to the MOU which do not change the intent of the agreement prior to the execution.
