Resolution rejecting a reservation for public street purposes along a portion of the west side of South 6th Street south of West Grange Avenue, in the 13th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution will eliminate from certain property an unnecessary reservation for public street purposes.
Body
Whereas, A 55-foot wide reservation for public street purposes was created by warranty deeds Document Number 3861673, recorded on February 10, 1961 and Document Number 3891240, recorded on July 14, 1961; and

Whereas, The east 33 feet of the subject reservation has been opened for South 6th Street leaving a 22-foot wide remainder; and

Whereas, The Federal Aviation Administration is directing General Mitchell International Airport to extend its east-west runway westerly to meet safety standards therefore requiring the relocation of South 6th Street from a point south of West Grange Avenue southerly to a point; and

Whereas, The vacation of a portion of South 6th Street will be done in conjunction with the relocation project; and

Whereas, The subject reservation is adjacent to the portion of South 6th Street that will be vacated and the City of Milwaukee no longer deems it necessary to retain the 22-foot wide reservation for public street purposes; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee hereby rejects the reservation for public street purposes, described as follows:

That part of Lands in the Northwest ¼ of Section 32, Township 6 North, Range 22 East, described as follows: Commencing at the southeast corner of said ¼ Section; thence Northerly, along the east line of said ¼ Section, 860.15 feet to a point; thence South 89°59’30” West to a point in the present west line of South 6th Street, lying 33 feet west of, as measured normal to, said east line, said point also being the point of beginning of the land to be described; thence Northerly, along said ...
